Media arrangements following security briefing on ICC Champions Trophy 2008

Sunday sees representatives of the eight teams participating in the ICC Champions Trophy 2008 in Pakistan, together with representatives of the ICC’s Broadcast Partner ESPN STAR Sports and the Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA), in Dubai to receive a security briefing.

The briefing will take place at the Grosvenor House hotel. Afterwards a representative of the ICC will be available to the media.

Please note, the media briefing will not take place before 1400 local time (1000 GMT, 1100 BST).

Ahead of that briefing an ICC representative should be on hand to assist media with arrangements.

Grosvenor House is located at West Marina Beach, after the Westin hotel Mina Seyahi. A location map is attached to this email.

The timing of this security briefing was agreed upon during the ICC’s annual conference week, in early July, to allow the ICC’s security consultants to provide a comprehensive report of arrangements at the Asia Cup. This was not possible previously as that tournament was still ongoing.

Prior to the security briefing, the ICC will not indulge in speculation and at this stage the tournament will proceed in Pakistan, as scheduled.
