The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup pre-final captains’ images and a video news release on the photoshoot on the roof of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is available for media to use rights free and is available on the ICC Online Media Zone.

Pakistan and England play the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) at 19h00 local time (Australian Eastern Daylight Time) on Sunday, 13 November. The teams will hold their post-match media conferences about 15 minutes after the end of the match in person and via Zoom. A player from the losing team will come in first, followed by a player from the winning team. A few players from each team will also be available for short stand-up interviews in the Mixed Zone, shortly after the press conferences have concluded.

ICC commentator Shane Watson will be available to media at the MCG at 15h45 AEDT to preview the Final. This opportunity will take place outside of Gate 2. This media opportunity will be outside the venue and therefore be free to film for non-rights holders and media who are not accredited for the event. Important points to note for the media ahead of the final

Match Day (13 November):

  • Media entry will be from Gate 3 B for all journalists and photographers
  • No videography is allowed anywhere in the venue and those filming risk getting their accreditation cards revoked and being blacklisted for future ICC events
  • The media centre will open three hours in advance of the start time (16h00) and remain open till three hours after the end of the match
  • Seats will be numbered and there will be no scope for additional media to attend, so please come to the venue only if you have been confirmed a seat
  • The Press Conferences and Mixed Zones will be held in the Yarra Park Room, Level 3 (one level above the media centre)
  • Those attending the Press Conferences need to wear masks and take their seats in advance
  • The Melbourne Cricket Ground media centre is located in the Jim Stynes Room, Level 2 Olympic Stand
  • The Photographer workroom is in use on match-day only and is located in the Photographer’s room, adjacent to changing room 4, Level B2, Shane Warne Stand
  • Photographers will be allocated positions during the pre-match briefing that will start at 17h00
  • Photographers will not be allowed in the Media Conference and Mixed Zone areas

Press conference and filming information

  • No filming will be allowed inside the venue on Sunday. The ICC will upload unedited press conference clips onto the Online Media Zone, which may only be used on news channels and websites for editorial purposes and are not to be natively posted on any social media channels. The press conferences will be live streamed via ICC Facebook.
