Media Information for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 – Saturday 15 October
The following is the schedule of media opportunities on Saturday 15 October at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Melbourne and Geelong.
Captains’ Day in Melbourne
For the first time in the history of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, all 16 captains will be together for a media opportunity in central Melbourne on Saturday, 15 October. The media event will take place at the Plaza Ballroom, where there will be an opportunity to hear from each captain and ask questions. It will also be streamed live via ICC’s Facebook channel.
Reporters, camerapersons and photographers will be permitted to capture content of the media interaction from a designated spot. The footage may only be used on news websites in an editorial capacity and is not to be natively posted on any social media channels.
The ICC will capture the main photo of 16 captains together prior to the open media session and will distribute this image via the ICC’s Online Media Zone immediately following the event. Media will also be able to access and use unedited footage and a transcription of the captains’ open media session on the Online Media Zone.
Media are strongly encouraged to wear a mask for the event.
RSVP Reminder: The event is strictly for working media only, with all media required to RSVP to the event. Any media attending who are not accredited for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup can attend but may be asked to prove credentials on arrival.

Geelong
- In Group A of the First Round of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Sri Lanka and Namibia play in Geelong on Sunday, 16 October at 15h00 local time. Followed by the United Arab Emirates versus Netherlands match at 19h00 local time.
- On Saturday 15 October:
- Namibia will be training between 09h00 and 12h00 and will be holding their pre-match press conference with a senior player at the Kardinia Park at 12h00.
- Sri Lanka will be training between 09h00 and 12h00 and will be holding their pre-match press conference with a senior player at the Kardinia Park at 12h15.
- Netherlands will be training between 13h00 and 16h00 and will be holding their pre-match press conference with a senior player at the Kardinia Park at 16h00.
- United Arab Emirates will be training between 13h00 and 16h00 will be holding their pre-match press conference with a senior player at the Kardinia Park at 16h15.

Press conference and filming information
- All press conferences at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 (except the Captains’ Day) will follow a hybrid model where media will be able to log on remotely via Zoom (details below). Please ensure you are logged on five minutes prior to the start time of the press conference.
- Non-Rights Holder media are allowed to film match day-1 press conferences. The ICC will upload unedited press conference clips onto the Online Media Zone. The footage from match day-1 press conferences may only be used on news websites in an editorial capacity and is not to be natively posted on any social media channels.
- On match day there is no filming allowed inside the venue. The ICC will also upload unedited press conference clips onto the Online Media Zone.
