‘Mixing business with pleasure’ – how umpiring helps Simon Taufel’s hobby

“I do mix business with pleasure,” he says as he takes ICC Cricket 360 over his collection, which includes everything from a shirt autographed by Shane Warne, stumps signed by fellow umpires and two shirts from the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2011 final.

There are also bats, from the first ODIs and Tests he officiated, signed by players of the teams involved. There are bails, balls, and of course, a fair few ICC Umpire of the Year award trophies.
