Rizwan's stunning knock, backed by Babar Azam's 52 helped Pakistan post a healthy total of 165/3. Hasan Ali (4/18) then helped Pakistan restrict Zimbabwe to only 141/7 despite a laudable effort from Wesley Madhevere (59).

Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first. They got off to a steady start and managed to add 35 runs for the opening wicket before Luke Jongwe struck, remvoing Sharjeel Khan on the final delivery of the fifth over.

Babar then joined Rizwan at the crease. The loss of the opening wicket slowed Pakistan down as both Azam and Rizwan opted for a cautious approach, scoring 66 runs within the first ten overs of the match.

From there, Rizwan picked up the pace, he cruised to his fifty in 39 deliveries, playing some excellent shots along the way. At the other end, Babar continued racking up the runs at a steady pace.

The duo collaborated for 126 runs, during the course of which Babar brought up his fifty. The second-wicket stand was broken by Jongwe in the last over of the innings after Babar directed a slower ball straight to the fielder at long-on. Jongwe picked up two in two, dismissing Fakhar Zaman off the very next ball.

Rizwan finished the innings unbeaten on 91 runs, helping Pakistan post a competitive total of 165/3.

Zimbabwe's chase started in a similar nature to Pakistan's innings. The opening pair added 37 runs before Tarisai Musakanda was trapped lbw by Hasan Ali.

Despite the loss of the wicket, Wesley Madhevere continued on the offensive as he, alongside Tadiwanashe Marumani took the chase forward. Madhevere brought up his fifty in style, dispatching Faheem Ashraf for a four through covers.

The duo stitched together a 65-run partnership before Marumani fell to Mohammad Hasnain in the 14th over of the match.

With 58 required to win in the last five overs, things went downhill for Zimbabwe. Hasan Ali struck twice, first, inducing a top-edge from Madhevere and then sending Regis Chakabva back to the pavilion for a duck.

Hasan Ali made Zimbabwe captain Sean Williams his fourth victim after Williams mistimed a shot, finding the fielder at deep mid-wicket.

With the game out of Zimbabwe's reach, Haris Rauf picked up the wickets of Jongwe and Brendan Taylor in the final over of the match.
