Namibia name strong squad for home tri-series
Gerhard Erasmus will lead Namibia for the T20I tri-series against South Africa and Zimbabwe at home.
Namibia have named a squad packed with experience for the tri-series on home soil, with captain Gerhard Erasmus joined by familiar faces including Jan Frylinck, JJ Smit, Jan-Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Ruben Trumpelmann and Bernard Scholtz, all of whom have over 100 appearances across formats.
Former South Africa international Justin Kemp will be assisting head coach Craig Williams. Kemp was appointed as Namibia's head of cricket in June.
The tri-series will be an important part of Namibia’s preparations, as they remain in contention for the 2027 Cricket World Cup - which they co-host alongside South Africa and Zimbabwe - through the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 pathway and will also have their sights set on making progress towards the 2028 Men's T20 World Cup.

Taanyanda, 21, one of Namibia’s most exciting prospects, made his T20I debut in June during the tri-series against Hong Kong, China and Nigeria and finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer.
Youth powers Namibia's bowling attack, with 18-year-old seamers Max Heingo and Waldo Smith both included. Heingo has already played 10 T20Is, while Smith has featured five times at international level.
JC Balt will also be one to watch after emerging as Namibia’s leading bowler in their most recent T20I series.
Namibia have enjoyed a strong run in the format since the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup, winning five of their seven T20Is.
South Africa had earlier named their squad with a new captain leading them on the tour.
The T20I series will be followed by a three-game ODI series.
