Nehra to replace Praveen Kumar

India seamer Praveen Kumar has been ruled out of the first One-Day International against New Zealand at Guwahati on 28 November due to fever.

Kumar has been replaced by veteran seamer Ashish Nehra who was not originally picked owing to a back injury. Nehra has been passed fit, according to a release from the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Regular skipper MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh had already been ruled out due to injury concerns.

Gautam Gambhir will be leading India for the first time in a One-Day International cricket.
