Nepal coach steps down as team's World Cup dream hangs in the balance
Prabhakar took over from Pubudu Dassanayake in August, overseeing the team in a home series against UAE, as well as a tours to Kenya and Namibia, the latter a League 2 tri-series.
Nepal have suffered a turbulent 2023 Cricket World Cup qualification campaign, losing three of four matches in the last tri-series, with the fourth match washed out. Nepal sit in sixth spot in the League 2 standings, though have matches in hand on every side above them on the table, and are still alive in terms of World Cup qualification.
The Cricket Association of Nepal confirmed the news via social media.

On top of multiple coaching appointments in the League 2 cycle, Nepal have found little continuity in their line-up on the field, with 30 players featuring in the campaign, by far the most across the competition.
The side also has a new captain in 20-year-old Rohit Paudel, who took over in September.

Nepal play 12 more matches in League 2, of which eight are on home soil. They need to finish in the top three to automatically reach the Cricket World Cup Qualifier, though they can reach the Qualifier via a Play-Off should they finish in the bottom four of the seven-team competition.
