Nepal's Shakti Gauchan set to retire after tour of Netherlands
Nepal spinner Shakti Gauchan has announced that he is to retire from international duties following his country's upcoming T20Is at Lord's and a maiden ODI series. The 34-year-old is a legendary figure in the Nepalese game, racking up a mammoth 191 caps across all formats for his nation after making his debut as an 18-year old back in 2002.
His wide smile and infectious demeanour made him a cult favourite for not only Nepal fans, but cricket lovers worldwide.
Shakti Gauchan on fire against Hong Kong
Nepal face up against the MCC and the Netherlands in a T20I triple-header at the 'Home of Cricket' on 29 July. Sri Lankan superstar Mahela Jayawardene will captain the MCC side.
Upon the conclusion of the matches at Lord's, Nepal will embarking on their first ever ODI tour, taking on the Netherlands in two matches on 1 August and 3 August.
