New No.1 team crowned in ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings

Harry Brook's side completed a 4-0 T20I series to jump to the top spot, while India have remained winless in the UK tour.

Jos Buttler of England is congratulated by Harry Brook as he celebrates reaching his century during the 5th Vitality IT20 match between England and India at Utilita Bowl on July 11, 2026 in Southampton, England.

England are the new No.1 team in the latest ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings after notching up clinical wins at home over the current T20 World Champions.

India, on the other hand, have slipped to second after being handed a 4-0 T20I series defeat after losing to Ireland 2-0 late last month.

By dethroning India from the top of the T20I Team Rankings, England brought to an end a run of more than 1,600 days that began when the Men in Blue climbed to No.1 in February 2022.

Harry Brook and Jos Buttler combined together to dismantle India's bowling attack, stitching together a 233-run partnership for the second wicket in the fifth T20I in Southampton.

While the opener scored a scintillating century, his skipper stayed unbeaten on 95, also bringing up his quickest half-century in T20Is in the process.

Ahead of the final T20I, the England skipper had declared the No. 1 spot as the team's target and managed to achieve the same with aplomb.

The series started with rain having the final say in Chester-le-Street, followed by England dominating the next four games, while also handing India their biggest defeat in T20Is in Nottingham and chasing down 159 in just 13.4 overs in Bristol.

Building a new regime under Shreyas Iyer, India haven't been able to land a victory yet post their famous World Cup win in Ahmedabad in February this year.
