The stage was well set with the series tied at 1-1 but the rain played spoilsport in the third and final T20I in Auckland, on Thursday, 1 April.

Earlier, the match was reduced to 13 overs due to a slight drizzle before the match. Amy Satterthwaite was captaining New Zealand in place of Sophie Devine, who was rested from the final T20I.

Satterthwaite won the toss and asked Australia to bat. The hosts got off to a good start as Rosemary Mair had Beth Mooney (4) caught in the second over. Australia were 14/1 from 2.5 overs when rain interrupted play and didn't permit any further action at Eden Park.

Both sides will return for the first ODI at Bay Oval on Sunday.
