New Zealand crippled by another Covid blow

The left-hander took a PCR test on arrival in London on Wednesday evening in preparation for a team activity, and has now begun five days of isolation, joining all-rounder Michael Bracewell and two members of the support staff who tested positive on Wednesday.

Those who returned positive tests will travel separately from the rest of the team, and providing they recover, the pair of players will be able to join the squad for training at Headingley ahead of the final Test on Thursday.

Conway made 46 and 52 at No.3 in the second Test after Kane Williamson tested positive on the eve of the match.

New Zealand are down 2-0 in the series, though crucial World Test Championship points are up for grabs for both sides sitting on the lower half of the table.
