Nicola Carey's all-round act sets up second consecutive Hobart Hurricanes victory
Carey, who made 11 runs from 17 balls and returned 1/24 in the Hurricanes' first WBBL game against Stars, bounced back in the second game with an excellent all-round performance against the same opposition on Sunday, 21 October.
She returned 2/27 with her right-arm medium pace, picking up the prized scalps of Stars opener Lizelle Lee and their No.3 batter Emma Inglis. Stars managed only 136/7 from their 20 overs, which the Hurricanes chased down with nine balls to spare. Carey was once again at the centre of the action, following up her spell with 60* from 46 balls, with seven fours.

That was after Hurricanes had gotten off to a shaky start. They lost their openers, Erin Fazackerley and Stefanie Daffara, early and were reduced to 18/2 at the start of the third over. Carey then walked in to join Heather Knight in the middle.
Together, the two shared a 32-run stand before Hurricanes lost Knight for 18. From 50/3, they slipped to 73/5, but Carey kept the scoreboard ticking.

She wound up making her maiden half-century for Hurricanes, sharing an important 64-run partnership with Chloe Tryon, who remained unbeaten on 29. Tryon's 18-ball cameo was studded with three fours and a six.
Hurricanes will next face Adelaide Strikers at the Allan Border Field on Saturday, 26 October.
