Obanda inspires Kenya to victory

A sensational display of power-hitting from Alex Obanda inspired Kenya to a comfortable nine-wicket win over Kenya in Dubai on Wednesday.

Obanda smashed 79 off just 48 balls, including 11 fours and one six, putting on 126 for the first wicket with Steve Tikolo (50 not out) as Kenya chased down its target of 139 to win with 5.1 overs remaining.

Canada had earlier made 138-9 off 20 overs with Ashish Bagai (36), Rizwan Cheema (32) and Geoff Barnett (30) all making useful contributions without anybody making a match-winning innings.

Kenya now faces the Netherlands on Thursday, while Canada will play the UAE.
