#OnTheUp: A piece of Gibbs history
Who can forget South Africa's classic chase of 438? Star of the show that day, Herschelle Gibbs, joined KL Rahul, Mushfiqur Rahim and Azhar Ali in being among the batsmen letting go of a piece of personal history for a good cause, auctioning the bat with which he smashed 175 to raise funds for the fight against COVID-19.
Even as players stayed safe inside their homes, the New Zealand cricket community celebrated some of their top performers with a virtual awards function.
Tom Latham and Tim Southee claimed first-class awards for their outstanding performances in Test cricket, while the likes of Suzie Bates, Kane Williamson, Sophie Devine and Ross Taylor bagged prizes in limited-overs cricket.
Pretty different #ANZNZCAwards this year but huge honour to take home this award 🙌 congrats to all other winners and a huge thank you to everyone involved 👏👏 Hopefully see you on the park soon 🏏 #StayHomeSaveLives pic.twitter.com/3WnPXHUSX7
