#OnTheUp: Dhoni's shower, Sri Lankan fans do it right
It was a week of some incredible moments on and off the field. While Woakes was outstanding against India, Sri Lankan fans took a leaf out of Japan's books.
Woakes earned some deserved plaudits from various quarters, mostly from current and former players, and his teammates.
Couldn’t be happier to see @chriswoakes get himself on the Lord’s honours boards and a real pleasure to be out there when he did it! 💯🏴 #cobba pic.twitter.com/KEDJfmTipL

While Woakes performed brilliantly, James Anderson picked up nine wickets in the match.
His bowling partner was glad he wasn't affected by his golfing misadventures before the game.
Glad to see a golf ball in the face didn’t affect @jimmy9 too much this week... #9fer

Ollie Pope made a memorable debut for England as well.

Elsewhere, Sri Lankan cricket fans took inspiration from what they saw of the Japan fans at the football World Cup, cleaning the Pallakele Stadium after their win over South Africa.
Kumar Sangakkara took notice.

Wonder what Sanga will make of the mess here, though …

A mutual admiration society here, between a giant of the cricket world and a star from another field.
Rohit Sharma extended support for his teammates midway through the Test, but it didn’t quite go the way he expected …
Let’s not forget these are the players who got India to the number 1 ranking. How about being little supportive when the going gets tough. This is our team
— Rohit Sharma (@ImRo45) August 10, 2018
… his other team did make him happy, though.
Great kick of to @premierleague last night, already seen some exciting games. Hope @ChelseaFC clinch this one

Not being in the Test squad not only helps you stay updated with the football, it helps you do things you wouldn’t be able to otherwise too.
Elsewhere, keep this one out if you can!
Unplayable. 😱🚀💥@BLACKCAPS quick @LockieFerguson showing his skills last night with this FAST yorker. Keep that one out...#WeAreDerbyshire#DERvNOR pic.twitter.com/QtXzkHpU8E

And, well, Jimmy Neesham kept up his cheeky ripostes.
