#OnTheUp: Near misses and just made its
The Asia Cup was filled with thrillers, and ended in signature style, with India beating Bangladesh off the last ball to defend their title.
Congratulations India on becoming #AsiaCup Champions. Hats off to Bangladesh for their splendid fight and attitude, for not giving up and playing out of their skins, this despite missing Shakib and Tamim. Special mention to Kedar Jadhav for his grit and commitment #IndvBan

They remained undefeated throughout the tournament, although did tie against Afghanistan in their final game before the final.
Couldn't have asked for a better match. Jadeja takes India as close as possible but in all fairness, Afghanistan deserved that tie

The World T20 Americas A Qualifier might have been a less grand stage, but there was no shortage of excitement, with the tournament featuring a tie as well as USA smashing 22 off the last over to beat Canada. It even achieved the great honour of making it onto ESPN's Sportscenter TV show!

While the men's World T20 is a while away, everyone is gearing up for the Women's World T20 in November. Australia's preparation continued apace, with them sealing their three-match T20I series against New Zealand at the first time of asking, and also inspiring the next generation while they were at it.

Even away from the international stage, there was plenty to intrigue. Surrey and Essex played out an extraordinary game, in which Surrey were bowled out for 67 in their first innings, only to come within one wicket of overturning a first-innings deficit of over 400 to claim victory.
Essex squeaked home, but it was too close for comfort!
Well... that was fun, wasn't it? π #SURvESS pic.twitter.com/S784pASnv5

Surrey may not have finished the season unbeaten, but they still claimed the title. Will Jacks, who represented England at the Under 19 Cricket World Cup in January, played a part in their campaign, and entered fully into the celebrations. We wonder how many laps of The Oval Jacks had to run after doing this to Surrey director of cricket Alec Stewart...

But this wasn't a week where everyone was satisfied. Indeed, former India off-spinner found his country's latest Test squad announcement a little hard to swallow.
