#OnTheUp: Virat Kohli – forever trending
Virat Kohli is always trending – that’s the default state of cricket on Twitter – and so it was once again this past week.
Unfortunately for Ravindra Jadeja, he was at the receiving end of a few jokes, thanks to his association with Kohli. Jadeja returned 3/18 in Chennai Super Kings’ six-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore. Among those wickets was the prized one of his national team captain, but the bowler didn't celebrate.

Jadeja, in fact, looked a tad guilty at having dismissed Kohli.

He did try his best to stop to all the talk, saying it had all happened too soon for him to celebrate. But it had little effect. What eventually did was Surrey’s announcement that they had signed up the Indian captain.

It's fair to say England was excited.

Fair play to Virat Kohli .. in a time where some cricketers are reducing their red ball exposure.. the busiest cricketer on the planet is putting it first to prepare for a test series in England .. giving himself the best chance to succeed!!

It was a fitting end to week that, again, began with this ode to his wife from Kohli.
Happy B'day my love. The most positive and honest person I know. Love you ♥️ pic.twitter.com/WTepj5e4pe

Competing with Kohli to be in the news was Justin Langer, who was named the new Australia head coach.

One of the worst kept secrets in the cricket fraternity, though extremely happy for Justin Langer. Completed my Level 3 coaching accreditation with him some 8 years ago. Was a passionate coach then and has since gone on and won plenty of 🏆🏆🏆 @CricketAus in good hands

Congratulations @CricketUganda and @dcfcricket. A lot of ups and downs for us this week but in the end we didn't do enough to secure promotion. WCL is a tough format for all teams and anyone can have their day. #noexcuses

On a positive note Ben Stevens picks up the player of the tournament award at the closing ceremony for his 253 runs and 13 wickets. Superb for us throughout the week. pic.twitter.com/cUYzYZNbLK
