Oram stars in thrilling New Zealand win

New Zealand achieved one of the most remarkable wins in ICC Cricket World Cup history after South Africa's batting dramatically collapsed in Dhaka on Friday.

At 121-3, South Africa looked well set to chase down a target of 222, after New Zealand had made 221-8 off 50 overs.

However, when Jacques Kallis was caught on the boundary by Jacob Oram, South Africa collapsed to 146-8.

Faf du Plessis, who had run out the in-form AB de Villiers, briefly threatened a revival but he was one of four victims for Jacob Oram who took 4-39, before South Africa was finally bowled out for 172. Nathan McCullum, who took 3-24, was also outstanding as Daniel Vettori superbly led a team that fielded brilliantly.

Earlier Jesse Ryder had made an excellent 83, with good support from Ross Taylor (43), while Kane Williamson's 38 not out off 41 runs proved to be invaluable.

Jacques Kallis (47) and AB de Villiers (35) looked like it would take South Africa to a comfortable victory before one of the most famous batting collapses in ICC Cricket World Cup history.
