A century from wicket-keeper Tim Paine has guided Australia A to a 15-run win over Pakistan A at Allan Border Field in Brisbane, giving the hosts a 2-1 one-day series victory.

After losing the toss and being sent in, Paine's knock of 134 guided the Australians to a big total of 316, before the visitors were all out for 301 in the last over of the day.

The Tasmanian's century came from 124 deliveries, his total coming from 177 balls and included 13 fours and five big sixes.

It was Paine's partnership with Callum Ferguson (48) that steered the home side's innings as the pair put on 108 runs for the second wicket.

The 24-year-old said it was good to get a few on the board, but even better to walk away with the one-day series win.

"Yeah, it was nice to get a few runs, I got a bit lucky, but it was a good feeling to get the hundred and an even better feeling to get the series win," Paine said.

"I enjoyed batting today and it was good to put on some solid partnerships, firstly with David Warner and then with Ferg (Callum Ferguson) after that.

"I thought 316 was a good score but we knew they would come at us hard, and we're just happy to come away with the win."

In reply, Khalid Latif was the main striker for the tourists with a quick-fire ton, the opener's century came from 91 deliveries and included 10 fours and two sixes as he and Sheharyar Ghani (53) looked to gain the upper hand before Jon Holland (2-78) snared Ghani's wicket.

"His (Khalid Latif) innings was first-class and really helped them through that middle part of the game and they got some momentum up so it was great when Dutchy (Jon Holland) was able to pick him up," Paine said.

"I thought all our bowlers worked hard out there today, that pitch was pretty flat and lifeless and didn't offer them much.

"It was a good all-round effort today and we're looking forward hopefully finishing this series with a win in the Twenty20 on Saturday."

Doug Bollinger was the pick of the bowlers for Australia A grabbing 3-52, with Holland and Shaun Tait also chipping in with two wickets each.

The final game of the 2009 Australia A Series is a Twenty20 encounter on Saturday at Allan Border Field with play commencing at 1:30pm local time. Tickets are available from the gate on match day.
