Pakistan player sanctioned for ICC Code of Conduct breach
Gull Feroza was found to have breached Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.
Pakistan's Gull Feroza has been fined 10% of her match fee after being found in breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during her side's Women's Asia Cup Group A fixture against Hong Kong in Dubai on Monday.
Gull was found to have breached Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to "showing dissent at an Umpire's decision during an International Match".
The incident took place in the fifth over of Pakistan's innings, when Gull, having been adjudged leg-before wicket, showed dissent towards the on-field umpire's decision by gesturing to her bat to indicate she had got an edge.
In addition to the fine, one demerit point has been added to Gull's disciplinary record. This is the player's second offence within a 24-month period, bringing her total to two demerit points in that window. Gull had received her first demerit point in the current cycle for an offence committed during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup league match against Australia on 23 June.
Gull admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees member Supriya Rani Das, meaning a formal hearing was not required.
On-field umpires Rabab Ahsan and Rokeya Sultana, third umpire Shivani Mishra and fourth umpire Shathira Jakir levelled the charge.
Level 1 breaches of the ICC Code of Conduct carry a minimum sanction of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player's match fee, in addition to one or two demerit points.
