PNG vs. Kenya series wrap
Dangerman Assad Vala (13) was the next to go and the visitors had win in their sails with the home side in early trouble at 2/27.
But it was Vani Morea (102*) who proved the hero for the home side with an unbeaten century, his first in any form for PNG.
His 124-run partnership with Sese Bau (66) looked to put PNG in a dominant position, but a middle-order collapse, losing 4/25, put Kenya back in control.
SB Reva has other ideas, blasting 43 from just 33 balls to power PNG to 6/249 and setting a defendable total.
It was Rushab Patel who put Kenya into a winning position in reply, his 95 from 117 balls the platform for the innings, with Rakep Patel combing for an 88-run stand.
Kenya looked to be cruising to victory but Collins Obuya’s wicket in the 45th sparked a dramatic collapse, as PNG came storming back into the contest.
The visitors lost 6/18 as a vocal home crowd helped lift their team to a famous victory in Port Moresby.
JB Reva was the match-winner taking 4/31 to go with his 43 from 33 in the first innings.
