PNG national women's player, Norma Ovasuru has blasted an unbeaten century in her third outing for the Gold Coast Dolphins against the Wests in the QCA 2nd Grade Division.

Dolphins posted a massive 3/326 off their 35 overs thanks to Ovasuru's century and then bowled out Wests for 95.

Ovasuru was also amongst the wickets as she picked up 4/7 to round off an outstanding all round performance.

Fellow national player all-rounder Pauke Siaka also picked up impressive figures of 3 for 4 to complete a dominant performance by the PNG girls.

Ovasuru opened the innings and wasted no time to get into her groove as she belted the Wests bowlers all over the park. Her blistering innings of 126 (four 6's & seventeen 4's) came off 54 balls and was eventually ended when she retired 18th Over.

The boys on the Brian Bell Future Stars Scholarship kicked off their season with their respective clubs with some handy performances with both bat and ball.

Queensland Inferno's new recruit, Assad Vala was amongst the runs scoring 39 whilst fellow left-hander, Jason Kila also made a handy contribution of 41 in their first innings for their club, Broadbeach Robina. Broadbeach who are the reigning premiers were bowled out for 195 and have Alberton 1/8 at the close of play.

Runaway Bay hosted Palm Beach in the first clash of the PNG boys playing against each other with the hosts boasting the services of young guns Lega Siaka and Charles Amini whilst Palm Beach had the services of Barramundi's explosive opener Tony Ura and wicket keeper/batsman Jack Vare.

Only Amini was able to make an impact on the scoreboard with a handy 29 but wasn't able to turn the start into a bigger score. Runaway bay finished the day 9/181 and will have their work cut out on Saturday. The 2nd grade all had some PNG flavour with up and coming bowlers Toua Tom (Palm Beach) and Norman Vanua (Runaway Bay) also going head to head. Tom bowled well to pick up 2/13 (11 overs) which also included the wicket of Vanua. Vanua picked up 1/15 (7 overs).

It was a low scoring affair out at Mudgeeraba as PNG skipper Chris Amini and Sese Bau fielded first for the Burleigh Bullsharks who were playing their first ever game in the Premier Division. Amini bowled tightly to pick up 2/8 (8 overs) to help restrict the home team to 135. However, it was a different story with the bat as both Amini (4) and Bau (3) found the going tough when they were both dismissed unluckily. The Burleigh Bullsharks are hanging on tightly at 5/58 and will have they work cut out come Saturday.
