Port Vila Municipal Council backs ICC event

Port Vila Municipal Council (PVMC) is extremely excited to be a sponsor and host council of the 2010 Pepsi International Cricket Council (ICC) East Asia-Pacific (EAP) Under 17 Cricket Trophy.

The PVMC have agreed to support the event by hanging the banner for the tournament in Lini Highway.

Toco Mara, Town Clerk, believes this is one of the first times that the PVMC has been a part of an international sporting event. "It has created much excitement within the council to be a part of a tournament such as this. Port Vila Municipal Council believes in building its network and image both nationally and internationally. We are glad that we can support Vanuatu Cricket in our own way."

General Manager Pierre Chilia said: "Having a banner up in Lini Highway is a great way to let people know about the event. We know that Fiji, Indonesia and PNG will be very excited to drive under the banner on their way into Port Vila from the airport."
