Protocols for Media attending The ICC Under 19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2022
The International Cricket Council has announced the protocols for media attending the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2022, which will be played in a bio-safe Managed Event Environment with the safety of players, fans, accredited personnel and the communities of the four host countries being our highest priority.
The initial accreditation process is now complete and confirmation has been provided to those media accredited to attend the event.
Members of the media will need to adhere to the bio-safety protocols during the tournament and any non-compliance will result in the immediate removal of accreditation and could have an impact on attendance at future ICC events.
- **** BIO SECURITY MEASURES
- The media are responsible for any additional testing requirements and entry requirements to enter country or venue, so please ensure you check regularly for new information. At present, there is no testing required to enter any of the match venues.
- All accredited media are strongly advised to have a comprehensive travel insurance policy, should hospitalisation be required.
- All members of the media attending matches should adhere to social distancing measures at venues, wear face coverings and ensure all hygiene measures are undertaken including regularly handwashing.
- Should a member of the media contract COVID 19, contact tracing will be carried out and close contacts may also be required to quarantine pending further tests.
- Accredited media will need to undertake any quarantine imposed by government guidelines at that time and are personally responsible to understand their obligations.
- Any accredited media showing symptoms will either be denied entry or be asked to leave a venue. The success of the event relies on us all taking personal responsibility and not attending the venue if you feel unwell. If you attend with symptoms and are found to have contracted COVID, you will be impacting other colleagues who may be close contacts and therefore also required to go into isolation.
- Only those with proof of a WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccination and negative PCR test taken within 72 hours will be allowed to attend media conferences in person. Please note media conferences are only for the semi-finals and final.
