Rahul Dravid on this week's ICC Cricket World Radio Show
On this week's ICC Cricket World Radio Show, India's master batsman Rahul Dravid looks ahead to the upcoming series against Australia that begins on 26 December in Melbourne.
Dravid says: "We have to prepare well and start the series well. We will play one Test match at a time and the key will be consistency from a lot of players. It's not going to individual player performances that will win this series. This series will be won by consistent performances from a lot of players in the team.
"Three or four bowlers need to step up as do three or four batsman and those seven or eight players with consistent performances will help India win this series against Australia."
Dravid adds that his own good form should not be taken for granted. "It's nice to be in good form but that doesn't mean you will score runs, I still have to do my preparation, I'll still have to work hard and earn every single run, especially in Australia. Just because I'm in good form, it gives me confidence but that's about it," he says.
The show can be used in whole or part by radio stations that want free cricket content for editorial use, while the public can also download it straight from www.icc-cricket.com or from iTunes.
Also on the show, Asian Cricket Council's CEO, Ashraful Huq discusses the recently concluded ACC T20 Trophy which was won by Afghanistan but saw Nepal, Oman and Hong Kong complete the line-up of sides travelling to the United Arab Emirates for the ICC WT20 Qualifier in March 2012.
Ashraful says: "I was surprised to see Hong Kong and Oman qualifying for the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, but that being said they are good sides. Hong Kong are a young side while Oman has experience - it's good to see so many different sides doing well at the event which was a great success."
Rounding off the show, departing ICC Media and Communications Manager, James Fitzgerald, reflect on his five?and-a-half years at the International Cricket Council as he leaves to join the International Rugby Board in Ireland at the beginning of next year.
This show has been put together by the ICC's global broadcast partner, ESPN STAR Sports.
