Rahul shines with landmark ton on a gripping day at Lord's
Crafty knock by the Indian opener, with valuable support from Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja, shouldered India's first-innings response on an eventful Day 3.
KL Rahul amassed his 10th Test ton as India and England engaged in a fierce contest on the third day of the Lord's Test.
The seasoned campaigner joined elite company, scoring his second successive Test match hundred at Lord’s. The Indian opener had also claimed a triple-figure score at the venue back in 2021, when India registered a thrilling win over the hosts.
Rahul became only the second Indian batter to score multiple hundreds at Lord’s in the longest format. Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar, leads the tally for the visiting batters with most Test hundreds at the venue.
The century is Rahul’s fourth in Tests in England, joint second-most by an Indian batter in the country alongside Rishabh Pant, Sachin Tendulkar and Dilip Vengsarkar.

Earlier in the day, India resumed their first innings at 145/3 with Rahul and Rishabh Pant in the middle.
The duo compiled a 141-run stand for the fourth wicket but England struck on the stroke of Lunch with skipper Ben Stokes producing a direct hit to run-out Pant (74).
Shoaib Bashir would go on to remove KL Rahul early in the second session after the Indian opener completed his ton.
Ravindra Jadeja then, constructed a vital lower-order partnership alongside Nitish Kumar Reddy, as the India all-rounder went on to score 72 off 131 deliveries.
England pacers would manage a late comeback in the day, running through the Indian tailenders in the final session to dismiss the visitors with both teams level in the first innings.
The hosts would come out to bat for an over, closing the day with a slender two-run lead with all ten wickets intact as the third Test in the five-match ICC World Test Championship series hangs in the balance.
