Rajasthan Royals sack Kaif

Rajasthan Royals, the victorious team of the inaugural IPL season has sacked eight players including Mohammad Kaif from the second season of the tournament.
The team, who is in South Africa playing the warm-matches against the domestic sides of the country asked these players to return back to India before the tournament begins on April 18.
Kaif, who was bought by the Jaipur based franchise in the first IPL auction for a handsome amount of 675,000 US dollars, did not live up to his owners’ expectations as in spite of playing in all the games, he managed to muster a mere 176 at an average of 16, without scoring a single half-century.
It is though noteworthy that the former Test player batted low down the order which did not give him many batting opportunities.
Kaif, 28, emerged as a promising prospect for India in the early 2000s and featured in 13 Tests and 125 ODIs before slipping out of the selection radar.
