Having led India to the World Test Championship Final in 2023, Rohit Sharma announced his decision to retire from the longest format of the game on Instagram.

Rohit stated: “Hello everyone, I would like to share that I am retiring from Test cricket. "It’s been an absolute honour to represent my country in whites. Thank you for all the love and support over the years. I will continue to represent India in the ODI format.”

Following the 38-year-old veteran batter’s decision to call time on his Test career, reactions have been pouring in from across the cricketing world.

With 67 Test matches under his belt, Rohit amassed 4,301 runs, which included 12 hundreds and 18 half-centuries. The 38-year-old was also part of the India squad across two ICC World Test Championship Finals in 2021 and 2023. Rohit was also named in the ICC Test Team of the Year in 2021.
