Australia received dominant performances from all-rounders Ashleigh Gardner and Ellyse Perry as they amassed 188/3 after being sent into bat and that total proved too much for India as the hosts fell seven runs short in reply.

Evergreen Perry still a powerful force

The Australia veteran must enjoy playing at Brabourne Stadium if judging by her two latest efforts with the bat against India during this series.

Perry brought up her fifth international T20I half-century in just 33 balls during the third game of the series and bettered that effort by one delivery when producing a superb knock in the crucial fourth game on Saturday.

The right-hander smashed India's bowling to all parts of the Mumbai ground, hitting seven fours and four massive sixes to end with an unbeaten 72 from just 42 balls that helped the Aussies to their big total.

Strong Australia line-up reaching new heights

Australia's massive total was the highest score a team has ever achieved when batting first against India's Women's team, with the calf injury to skipper Alyssa Healy the only downer for the visitors.

Healy had to retire hurt when on 30, but Perry, Gardner and Grace Harris (27*) stepped up when it mattered to propel Australia to another score in excess of 170.

It was the fourth time this series that Australia had scored more than 170, as the reigning ICC World Cup champions became the first women's team to score more than 170 in four consecutive T20I matches.

India skipper leading from the front

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur top-scored for the hosts in reply with 46 and in the process became the first India female player to score more than 1000 T20I runs on Indian soil.

Spinner Alana King (2/23) got the key wicket of Kaur in the 15th over and India failed to recover despite some lofty late hitting from young gun Richa Ghosh.

Ghosh hit four boundaries and two massive sixes during an unbeaten knock of 40, but veteran seamer Megan Schutt held her nerve in the final over to ensure the Aussies held on to clinch the win and the series.
