Reliance Life Insurance and star players ensure reading opportunities to over 15,000 young children

When India and Sri Lanka compete for the biggest prize in international cricket when they play in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 final on Saturday, the teams will also be playing their part in providing access to books and libraries to young people.

Reliance Life Insurance has announced that it will be pledging Rs 25,000 for every four hit by any team in the India-Sri Lanka final, which is in addition to the ongoing donation of Rs 25,000 for every six hit during the tournament.

This campaign has already, through Reliance Life Insurance's donation of Rs 25,000 for every six in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and public donations, helped provide fully functional libraries, trained librarians and books for over 15,000 children.

The Reliance Life Insurance Boundaries for Books initiative was launched with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Room to Read - a global non-profit organisation committed to promoting literacy and gender equality in education. Every single six scored in the tournament or four hit during the India-Sri Lanka final will ensure that at least 30 children get access to fully functional libraries with books and trained teachers, thereby catalysing a long-term revolution amongst young minds that will lead the future of India.

Cricket fans and the public in general also have the opportunity to contribute to this fight against illiteracy, through convenient payment options:
