The International Cricket Council has approved Saqlain Sajib and Shuvagata Hom as replacement players for Arafat Sunny and Taskin Ahmed in Bangladesh men’s squad taking part in the ICC World Twenty20 India 2016.

Arafat and Taskin were suspended on Saturday from bowling in international cricket after independent assessments revealed that they possessed illegal bowling actions.

In line with ICC’s event-time policy, side losing a player due to an illegal bowling action is allowed a replacement.

Saqlain, 27, is a left-arm spinner who is yet to make his T20I debut, while 29-year-old Shuvagata is an all-rounder who has played two T20Is.

Bangladesh lost to Pakistan in its opener on 16 March, and will play Australia in Bengaluru on Monday. Its remaining matches are against India (Bengaluru, 23 March) and New Zealand (Kolkata, 26 March).
