Rhodes to help Kenya's preparations for CWC 2011
Former South Africa international Jonty Rhodes is to join the Kenya national team in their final preparations for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.
The 41-year-old first worked with the squad during a three week training camp at the High Performance Centre based in Pretoria in November 2010. Rhodes, who played 52 Tests and 245 One-Day Internationals for his country, is widely regarded as one of the finest fielders ever to have played and was an outstanding batsman in all forms of the game.
He arrives in Kenya later this week and will be with the squad during the final preparations for the tournament in Nairobi, when they travel to an ICC High Performance Camp in Dubai on 30 January and then onto Sri Lanka for the final stage of the preparations and warm up matches.
Cricket Kenya Chief Executive Tom Sears said: "Jonty will be a tremendous asset to the squad during the final phase of our preparation. The reports that came back from the squad after working with him in South Africa were incredibly enthusiastic and we are delighted that he will be with us again during this crucial period. We are doing everything we can to ensure our squad arrive at the World Cup in a position to fulfill their undoubted potential and Jonty's involvement will be a key part of that."
