Rohit back at No.1 as Zimbabwe star claims top T20I ranking

Zimbabwe star Sikandar Raza has been rewarded for his good recent form by claiming top spot for all-rounders on the latest ICC Men's T20I Player Rankings.

Raza has been in great touch for his side in ongoing tri-series with Sri Lanka and hosts Pakistan, with his most recent effort coming against the island nation on Tuesday when he contributed a quickfire 37 and bowled four economical overs during a nine-wicket loss.

It proved enough for Raza to overhaul Pakistan's Saim Ayub at the top of the rankings for T20I all-rounders, with the 39-year-old rising to the premier position for the first time in his 13-year international career.

Raza has been sitting inside the top 10 places ever since the 2022 edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, with his latest efforts a testament to his consistency at international level in the shortest format in recent times.

Raza was also recently crowned No.1 ODI all-rounder in September, and currently sits at No.2 in that category in the longer white-ball format.

The change at the top sees Ayub drop back to second for T20I all-rounders, while Pakistan teammate Mohammad Nawaz gains once place to move to seventh on the same list following some good efforts with the ball in the tri-series.

There are further gains for Pakistan players, with Sahibzada Farhan rising eight spots to fourth overall on the list for T20I batters, while former skipper Babar Azam improves five spots to move to 29th following a recent half-century.

There are re-shuffles inside the top 10 of all three formats this week, with another change right at the top of the ODI charts as India veteran Rohit Sharma re-claims his place as the top-ranked batter from New Zealander Daryl Mitchell.

Mitchell had to sit out the final two matches of the Black Caps' ODI series sweep over the West Indies at home and this saw the right-hander lose valuable rating points and drop back below Rohit at the top of the rankings for ODI batters.

There was some joy for the Kiwis as Rachin Ravindra (up one place to 12th) and Devon Conway (up 11 rungs to 31st) made some ground on the batter charts, while West Indies skipper Shai Hope improved two places to move to eighth on the same list after an unbeaten century in the second match of that series with New Zealand.

The Black Caps are also boosted inside the rankings for ODI bowlers, with Mitchell Santner (up one place to sixth) and Matt Henry (up one spot to equal 10th) the biggest beneficiaries of the 3-0 series sweep made by their side.

There are also changes on the latest Test rankings, with a host of Australian players making good ground following their impressive triumph over England in Perth and Bangladesh's stars doing similar following their victory over Ireland at home.

Australia dasher Travis Head turned in a match-winning knock in the fourth innings in Perth to guide his side home and was rewarded with a four-spot jump to sixth on the latest rankings for Test batters.

England left-hander Ollie Pope (up four places to 24th) also made some ground on the list for Test batters, with Bangladesh trio Mushfiqur Rahim (up seven spots to 30th), Litton Das (up eight rungs to 37th) and Mominul Haque (up eight places to equal 46th) the big improvers following their side's 217-run victory over Ireland in Mirpur.

Evergreen Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc moves up four spots to fifth overall and obtains a new career-high rating on the list for Test bowlers following his Player of the Match heroics against England, with Taijul Islam (up four places to 15th) the big mover for Bangladesh.

There is also change near the top of the list for Test all-rounders as Ben Stokes moves up one place to second behind India's Ravindra Jadeja, while Starc gains two spots to jump to fifth.
