Rwanda, Sierra Leone stay on track for Women's T20 World Cup
Progressing teams from Division 2 Qualifier join six challengers in Division 1 Africa Qualifier on road to England 2026.
Rwanda and Sierra Leone have kept their ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 hopes alive, surviving the eight-team Africa Division 2 Qualifier in Botswana.
The two teams finished in top spot in their respective four team groups, before going on to win their semi-final matches to seal their spots for the next round.

Rwanda beat Botswana by 35 runs.
Both sides qualified for the semi-finals after perfect records in the group stage, with Rwanda then defeating the hosts by 35 runs and defending 99 to qualify, and Sierra Leone defeating Malawi, chasing 101 with 28 balls to spare.
Rwanda went on to claim tournament bragging rights, beating Sierra Leone by 51 runs in the final, led by Gisele Ishimwe's 44 (28) and Belise Murekatete 2/9 (3).

Sierra Leone beat Malawi by 6 wickets.
The two progressing teams join Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe in the Division One tournament, held in Namibia in September. The top two teams of that tournament will then move forward to next year’s Global Qualifier.

Hosts Botswana went on to finish third after defeating Malawi in a playoff match. Mozambique and Cameroon took fifth and sixth places respectively, and Lesotho claiming seventh after defeating Eswatini.
