Sam Curran called in as cover for Ben Stokes
Sam Curran, the uncapped left-arm medium pacer from Surrey, has received a call up to the England side for the second Test against Pakistan as cover for Ben Stokes.
Stokes had a tight hamstring during England's practice session on Wednesday 30 May. Although he hasn't been ruled out of the second and final Test at Headingley from Thursday, further scans later in the day will reveal the extent of the injury.

Curran, 19, has shown impressive form in the ongoing county season, having picked up 18 wickets in four games for Surrey at 19.55. He had a match haul of 10/101 against Yorkshire at The Oval, his victims including Joe Root, the England Test captain, and Cheteshwar Pujara, whom he dismissed in both innings.
Although he doesn't have a lot pace, Curran has caused many a problem for batsmen with his ability to swing the ball in late into the right-handers.
Curran was recently included in England's Twenty20 International squad for the tri-nation series involving New Zealand and Australia, but did not get a game. He has also been drafted into the ICC World XI side for the fundraising T20I against the Windies on Thursday at Lord's.
Curran's older brother Tom has already represented England in two Ashes Tests and has been a presence in the national side over the winter in all three formats.
