Samoa ready to host leading East Asia-Pacific sides

With just five weeks to go before the much anticipated Pepsi ICC EAP Men's Cricket Trophy 2009 in Apia, Samoa, plans are in place for an outstanding event.

ICC EAP Tournament Director Nick Frayne said, "All is now in readiness for a fantastic tournament, which will serve as a real show-piece of where high performance cricket is going in the region.

"With the introduction of Twenty 20 cricket, and an ICC World Cricket League Division 8 spot up for grabs for those not already embedded in the World Cricket League system, the stakes are high and we are certainly expecting some competitive cricket from all participants," said Frayne.

"The facilities in Samoa are outstanding and with four ovals all situated next to each other, the stage is set for a truly great spectacle."
