Samoa's Cotter reprimanded for showing dissent
Samoa's Sean Cotter has received an official warning and reprimand after pleading guilty to a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during his side's 17 run defeat to PNG today at the Pepsi ICC East Asia-Pacific Men's Championship in Auckland, New Zealand.
Cotter was found to have breached Article 2.1.3 of the code of conduct which relates to "showing dissent at an umpire's decision during an International Match."
The player admitted to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction offered to him by the tournament referee Steve Bernard. As such, there was no need for a formal hearing.
The incident took place after Cotter was given run out in the 5th over.
The charge had been laid by the two on-field umpires Barry Frost and Chris Thurgate.
