Sarwan and Rampaul star in West Indies victory
West Indies XI completed a series sweep over Ireland with a 16-run victory in the third Twenty20 match between the sides played at Sabina Park, Jamaica on Sunday.
Put on to bat first, the hosts lost in-form batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul early on to run-out, but recovered to set up a total of 152-4 in 15 overs with top scores coming from Ramnaresh Sarwan (52), Wavell Hinds (38) and Andre Fletcher (27).
In its reply, Ireland lost quick early wickets to a tight bowling attack led by Ramesh Rampaul (3-26), to be reduced to 63-4 at one stage. Trent Johnston (39) and Nigel Jones (21) provided some late fight back, which was not enough as Ireland finished at 136-7 in 15 overs.
