Scotland Announces Squad Changes for ODIs against Canada
Following its recent win in the ICC Intercontinental Cup against Canada by 29 runs, Scotland has made two changes and one addition to the original squad for the two ODIs against the same opponents to be played in Aberdeen on 7 and 8 July 2009.
Marc Petrie replaces Simon Smith who suffered a shoulder injury during the recent game. Petrie, the current Scotland Under-19 wicketkeeper batsman, will become the second U/19 player to be capped from Arbroath United in the recent times following his team-mate Matthew Parker's elevation to the senior team last season.
Stuart Chalmers, who joined the team as cover during last week's game, replaces Calum McLeod. Chalmers, the Grange all rounder, has been in excellent form for the Scotland Lions and his club this season, and his call up marks a rapid rise through the performance structure. Seam bowler Ally Evans has been called up in order to give additional options to the squad.
The full squad is given below:
Gavin Hamilton (captain), Fraser Watts, Ryan Watson, Navdeep Poonia, Neil McCallum, Richie Berrington, Jan Stander, Gordon Drummond, Stuart Chalmers, Marc Petrie, Majid Haq, Ross Lyons and Ally Evans.
