Sehwag to lead India, Dhoni to rest

The India selectors named Virender Sehwag as captain for the ODI series against West Indies.

The five-match ODI series starts on 29 November. Sehwag will lead the squad in the series.

The selectors meanwhile named the squad for the first three ODIs.

Master batsman Sachin Tendulkar has also been rested for the series. Meanwhile Yuvraj Singh is not chosen for the series,

"Sachin Tendulkar has been rested. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been rested for the series. Yuvraj Singh was not considered for selection, as he has informed that he is not fully fit,'' BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale informed in a media release.

But the rest of the squad for the three-match series is more or less the same that played in the 5-0 series win over England.

India squad: Virender Sehwag (captain), Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Parthiv Patel (wk), R Ashwin, Praveen Kumar, Vinay Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron, Rohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, Rahul Sharma.
