Series sweep helps West Indies players make rankings gains
Rankings boost for players from West Indies and Ireland following their recent series in Bready.
A series sweep over Ireland has helped a group of white-ball stars from the West Indies make eye-caching progress on the latest ICC Women's ODI Player Rankings.
The Caribbean side registered an impressive 3-0 series result in Ireland as part of the ongoing ICC Women's Championship, with skipper Hayley Matthews once again leading the way with both bat and ball as she was adjudged Player of the Series.
Matthews contributed a series best 265 runs across the three matches and chipped in with seven valuable wickets to further cement her place inside the top 10 in all three ODI rankings categories, while teammates Stafanie Taylor, Aaliyah Alleyne, Afy Fletcher and Deandra Dottin also made gains.
Taylor stroked a superb century in the final match of the series and moved up one place to 22nd overall on the rankings for ODI batters as a result, while Alleyne improved four spots to 73rd after an innings of 33 in the same contest.

In the updated rankings for ODI bowlers Fletcher moved up one rung to equal 21st on the back of her series best eight scalps across the three matches, while Dottin gained six slots to jump to 75th on the same list.
There was some joy for Ireland despite the series result, with skipper Gaby Lewis gaining three spots to improve to 18th for ODI batters and teammates Orla Prendergast (up three slots to 31st), Jane Maguire (up four rungs to 47th) and Aimee Maguire (up five places to equal 71st) all made ground on the updated rankings for ODI bowlers.
