Singapore ready for this year's ACC Trophy Elite
On this week's ICC Cricket World, we take an in depth look at the upcoming 2010 Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Trophy Elite which is due to take place in Kuwait from 31 March to 9 April.
Former Sri Lanka opening batsman turned Singapore coach Marvan Atapattu, whose side is in Group A alongside Hong Kong, Nepal, Kuwait and Oman, said: "Well, our tournament preparations have only been consistent with five or six players of the team, as the rest have to work. But I am confident for the side.
"We had a good tournament in Nepal for the (Pepsi ICC) World Cricket League Division 5 and that's a good positive to take into this tournament."
Also on this week's ACC Trophy Elite special show, Hong Kong vice-captain Roy Lamsam shares his thoughts on the UAE, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Bahrain and Bhutan which are the other sides in Group B alongwith Hong Kong.
The 29-year-old said of the ICC World Twenty20 qualifier Afghanistan, "I have to give a lot of credit to Afghanistan. It has come a very, very long way and now it has grown in so much confidence, it would be tough to play against it."
