Burger injury

South Africa face injury blow in series decider in Visakhapatnam

Both Burger and de Zorzi experienced discomfort during the second ODI in Raipur.

The Proteas will be without pacer Nandre Burger and batter Tony de Zorzi for the final and deciding ODI against India on Saturday.

While the left-arm fast bowler experienced right hamstring discomfort while bowling during the second ODI, de Zorzi was affected by right hamstring area pain and couldn't bat further in the run chase in the Raipur match.

Burger had given the initial breakthrough for the Proteas, claiming India opener Rohit Sharma's wicket even as De Zorzi made a handy 17 off 11 deliveries before being retired hurt during the chase.

De Zorzi has also been ruled out of the five-match T20I series commencing on December 9 and there has been no replacement named.

Youngster Kwena Maphaka has also been ruled out of the T20I series after not making progress during the final phase of his rehabilitation from a left hamstring injury. Lutho Sipamla has been added to the side as his replacement.
