Sri Lanka have named a 15-player squad for their upcoming ICC World Test Championship series against Pakistan.

The Asian side will travel to Pakistan for two Tests from November 9, with the matches to take place in Rawalpindi and Lahore as part of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.

Kusal Mendis will captain the side throughout the series, while experienced batter Pathum Nissanka has been included in the touring party pending a return to full fitness prior to the first Test.

Nissanka missed out on Sri Lanka tour of India in August as he continued to recover from a wrist injury and his absence was felt as India registered a 1-0 series triumph across the two-game series.

There is a recall to Sri Lanka's Test squad for Dilshan Madushanka, while Eshan Malinga and Anjala Bandara have also been handed call ups. There is no room for right-hander opener Lahiru Udara despite his recent 188 against the West Indies in June, while Niroshan Dickwella is also left out.

Sri Lanka currently sit in seventh place on the World Test Championship standings, while Pakistan are in ninth.

Sri Lanka squad: Kusal Mendis (c), Anjala Bandara, Dinesh Chandimal, Dhananjaya De Silva, Sonal Dinusha, Asitha Fernando, Prabath Jayasuriya, Lahiru Kumara, Dilshan Madushanka, Eshan Malinga, Kamindu Mendis, Pathum Nissanka, Keshara Nuwantha, Milan Rathnayaka, Pasindu Sooriyabandara

Series schedule:

First Test: November 9-13, Rawalpindi
Second Test: November 17-21, Lahore
