Sri Lanka set for all format tour of West Indies
Six white-ball games and two Tests headline a key tour, with both sides eyeing momentum ahead of the 2027 Cricket World Cup and crucial WTC points on the line.
Sri Lanka are set to tour the West Indies in June and July 2026 for a full-fledged bilateral series featuring three ODIs, three T20Is and two Test matches.
The tour begins with the ODI leg on June 3, followed by the T20Is from June 11 — both series to be played at Sabina Park — before shifting to Antigua for the Test series starting June 25. A four-day warm-up match will precede the red-ball leg.
The Tests will form part of the ICC World Test Championship, adding context to what is already an important tour.
Sri Lanka, currently fifth in the standings with just two Tests played, will be keen to maximise points early in the cycle. West Indies, having played eight matches and yet to register a win, will be aiming to open their account and reset their campaign.
The two sides last met in a bilateral series in October 2024 in Sri Lanka, where the hosts secured victories across formats. Their most recent white-ball contest against the Windies dates back to 2021, a two-match series in Galle that also went Sri Lanka’s way.
Both teams were recently in action at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Sri Lanka, co-hosts of the tournament, impressed during the group stages but could not sustain that form in the Super Six phase. West Indies, on the other hand, showed consistency throughout before exiting after a high-stakes loss to India in Kolkata.
With an eye on the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup next year, the white-ball leg of this tour serves as crucial preparation.
