Bangladesh have named their squad for the opening match of their ICC World Test Championship series at home against the West Indies.

The Asian side have been boosted by the return of experienced pacer Taskin Ahmed for the opening Test of the two-game series that commences in Mirpur on 28 October, with the right-armer named in the 15-player squad after he missed the one-off Test against Afghanistan at the start of this month.

Najmul Hossain Shanto will captain the side throughout the series as Bangladesh look to continue their push towards next year's World Test Championship Final, while experienced batter Litton Das is included in the squad despite a recent hip injury.

Bangladesh currently sit in fourth place on the World Test Championship standings and will be looking for a pair of positive results against the West Indies as they try and move towards a top two berth and a spot in the 2027 final.
