Cricket South Africa announced on Wednesday that the Indian Premier League (IPL) had cleared Proteas' fast bowler Dale Steyn of any doping violation.

"There was a discrepancy in the result of a doping test during the IPL," commented CSA CEO Gerald Majola, "but the authorities are perfectly satisfied with the explanation that Dale has provided and they have confirmed that no offence has been committed."

He added that CSA remained totally committed to the International Cricket Council's anti-doping programme.

Steyn will link up with the rest of the Proteas' Standard Bank ODI squad for their training camp at Potchefstroom at the end of the month ahead of the ICC Champions' Trophy which CSA will be hosting in September and October.
