With 100 days to go before the first ball is bowled in the eighth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 Nissan Trophy was launched in the backyard of the International Cricket Council headquarters at the ICC Academy on Tuesday (February 21).

Shahid Afridi, the former Pakistan captain, did the honours by unveiling the trophy and taking a selfie with it in front of school kids. He also signed autographs. “The events organised by the ICC, whether it’s the Champions Trophy, World Twenty20 or the World Cup, are eagerly awaited by the people because of the thrill and excitement these events bring to them,” said Afridi. “I am honoured to be a part of the ICC as an ambassador representing my country and it’s a big honour for me.”
