The trophy was then taken to various iconic locations in Colombo – Moratuwa, Maharagama, Nugegoda, Town Hall and Galle Face, with a final stop at Independence Avenue in the evening. Fans were given an opportunity to pose for photographs with the trophy all the way through, and the excitement among them was palpable.
Papare, a local band, added to the excitement with live performances as the trophy made its way across the city.
